And, sadly that day before my exams started, my Garnier PureActive Neem Facewash finished. I was so engrossed in my assignment submissions and pre-final examinations, for the next four-five days, that I didn’t even notice that a small pimple was growing absolutely in the middle of my nose. I knew, that, it was time to get a new facewash pack. But, exams were on the way, eating my head, I couldn’t go to the nearest supermarket and get my pack. On top of that, the day my exams ended, my girlfriend called me up and, she demanded a surprise date.

This came as a shock to me.I started to search my Neem Facewash pack.Found it in the dustbin and, started the weirdest way for extracting even a single drop of the facewash from the pack. Didn’t work though. And the date was just two hours away.I was worried, as the pimple, was looking absolutely red and, I knew I would be a laughing stock, not only to her but probably everyone in the coffee shop.Having no option,I got ready. And, all set to be made fun of, I left home at the supposed time.Though my attire was pretty good, but the red pimple on my nose, the little red dot, made a lot of people to look at my face again, and smile.

So,this way, I reached the coffee shop, ordered a Cappuccino and started waiting for her.I realized, after some time that, the laughter of a girl could be heard just outside the shop. As,I was sitting at the corner most table,I couldn’t see the person who was laughing. A few moments later, my girlfriend came inside, with a smiling face and, just as she saw me, she couldn’t just stop laughing. This was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. Maybe more embarrassing than the day I disqualified IIT-JEE examinations.Though,I realized later that, my table could be seen from the entrance of the coffee shop, and before entering she had already spotted me, and my red pimple on the nose, which made me look like a joker.

And,the laughter continued for a few minutes, after which we discussed various stuff(obviously I would never go into details of the discussion, but still) like exams, preparations for Post Graduation studies, etc. After the coffee session and discussion, she held my hand and, took me to the supermarket which was near to the coffee shop.I was taken aback and was reluctant to go. But, she was affirmative and, she bought me a new pack of Garnier PureActive Neem Facewash. She said that, she knew, my facewash pack was finished and, also for being careless, this was my punishment, to roam around in public, like a joker, with the red pimple on the nose.

Sincerely speaking, I used Garnier Neem Facewash before it was PureActive. I always loved the gel and it smelled nice as well. I rarely had pimples using it and, it also suited my oily skin.

Namma Bengaluru,What to do!

Posted: January 13, 2015 in Uncategorized

And, you’ve unexpectedly got a transfer in the Silicon Valley, Bengaluru. What next?! Confused right!
Not to worry! Quikr is here to help us. They have everything on sale, ranging from houses to cars and various other household things. Just name a thing and you’ll find it on Quikr. Mobiles, Yes. Cars, Yes. Lifestyle stuff,Obviously Yes. And, even some Real Estate services! So indirectly, or directly, Quikr comes as a saviour to you.

Now let us start with, the basic things, which we were taught to us when we learnt to read and write in our early childhood.Whenever the teacher used to ask us, “Kids, tell me.What are the basic necessities of a human being?”, we kids used to reply, “Food,Clothing and Shelter!”. And in this way, whenever we are at a new place, we always think of food, clothing and shelter. Food and clothing, is our worry. But for shelter,we can rely on Quikr. It has the best offers, rates and probably whatever you want of your choice. Quikr can tell you, whether you want a home near the airport, near the IIM campus, or wherever you want. It also asks you, what is your personal requirement. Do you want to live in rent? Or do you want to buy an apartment? Leave that, do you want to find a roommate? Everything is possible on Quikr.

Let’s suppose we found an apartment very nice and beautiful. It’s probably at Yelahanaka and you called up the dealer, negotiated, fixed the deal and paperwork is all complete.
Living Apartment – Done! Now, what next? You wouldn’t be sleeping on the floor, right? Or what if guests unexpectedly land up at your home? What impression will they have if you make them sit down on the floor! Obviously you would need furnishing! Now here comes the Home Decor & Furnishings. There are various people who want to sell their old, or maybe unused furnitures. You could get some awesome deals there. And, if you think, Illa, the price is too high, just check the MSP of the particular product, and boom! You know what price to ask and check with various sellers that who is the one offering less price for the commodity you are finding.Let’s assume you got stuff, like a dressing table, a bed, a couch, and probably a dining table. Now the home looks probably furnished and even if guests land up, you might not have food to offer, but you would definitely have a seat to offer.

Now, as your shelter and home requirements are fulfilled, what next? Tell me,you would never want to take pains in knowing the bus routes and other services. It is way too difficult to byheart all the routes. Also, one can never rely on cabs these days. What if they do not turn up on time, and you miss your most-important-business-meeting? We do have a solution for that too. But that I’ll be explaining at a later stage. So, now comes a need of a private vehicle. Even here Quikr comes in your service. Absolutely free. Suppose you like a specific car, and you just want the same model, just check the MSP of the price, check which seller is giving you the best deal and then you buy your car.And you are done.

Now you have your own car and a furnished home.Anything else do you need? Oh yes, Electronics. TVs,Mobiles,PCs, Laptops everything can be found either in the Electronics section or Mobiles section on Quikr.

Now suppose, you are actually late for a meeting and you couldn’t attend it and you are fired. OMG. That scary thought. But, Quikr helps you to find jobs as well. There can be various services you may require like babysitting, maid for home etc. Here too, Quikr helps you finding a babysitter, a maid for doing chores or cleaning the house, and various such stuff.

I hope you would find everything, whatever you would need, on Quikr. But sadly Quikr won’t manage a girlfriend for you.

I wish it could manage. But for everything else, only Quikr.

And, it all started when I was in Delhi, maybe on the second last day, when my trip was on the verge of ending.I still remember, I had second thoughts, whether I would come to Delhi or not. But someone’s call, put me over the edge and compelled me to visit Surat, situated in The land of Modi.Oops, Gujarat! I’ll explain in the latter half of my post, that who was the person whose words made me visit Surat. And yes, I do not regret my one day trip to Surat. Yes, just a few hours from Mumbai. I was supposed to stay for some more time, but I was running short on time. So, one day was what I all got.

I woke up at 4.30am that very day. Reached Mumbai Central, to board the Gujarat Express at 5.45am.All excited, to meet up some real life friends, who did agree to meet me that very day, out of Twitter. And I still remember them promising me to give me an actual tour of Surat the next time I visit. And, I would gladly visit Surat anyday, anytime, thanks to them.

Also, after getting down,I called up Hetal tai i.e @bubblydentist ,as I affectionately call her tai always.Tai in Marathi means elder sister. So, I called her up, and she was like, wait for a moment dada, I’ll reach around the place soon. And, I came to know, after paying fine to the cops and various other hurdles, she came all the way to pick me up. And from there, we first left to meet Tanya @rajputanii_ and after meeting her up, we decided to go to Tai’s home.

After a little lot of travelling, we were at the coffee shop, where Tanya was waiting for us. She had her daily office, yet she made time to just meet me up.I’d specially thank her someday for that. Though she was worried whether I actually reached or not. Calling me up on regular intervals, asking whereabouts and also, asking me, how was the city, was something she was constantly doing. And, obviously I didn’t mind. Hey, if you’re reading this, I’m sorry I was a li’l late. Apologies Tanya Devi!

And, then we had a hearty time at the coffee shop. And, she was pleasant being around. They even told me that, they were actually planning to meet up but my presence in Surat managed to make the arrangements and all. After a long conversation,we had beverages and Tanya had to leave because she had her office. We called up Sid, or rather @HathwalaThakur sahab, and he was like, you guys come over for lunch and, I’ll meetup CEO then. We were like done done, and before leaving, we requested Tanya to reach over at the lunch place.
(P.S I’m not a real CEO!It’s just a part of my handle so no offence please! People do call me CEO at times 😀 …)

After that, Hetal tai and me together reached her home. Where I was actually warm welcomed by her mom, and her little brother Purav. He was overjoyed to see me, and I got to know that the little one was more excited on the fact that I was coming to Surat just to meet them. Had some beautiful sight-seeing from her home and then she explained how the city is, and various other monuments and important buildings. From there, we left for the lunch and Hetal tai called up Sid, so that he reaches at the restaurant. And then we called up Tanya, but she couldn’t make it because of her office stringents. Such heartless people at her office, you see. But can’t help. Though, I was happy to meet Sid at the lunch. He was one amazing person, both in Twitter and outside Twitter. No words, that he was witty in and out both. Now I realize why he’s a famous Twitter celebrity.

After the lunch, Sid took the responsibility to drop me at the station, and Hetal tai left for home. After goodbye exchanges, I and Sid left for Surat station. On the way, Sid told me, that I should visit Surat for some more duration, the next time I visit. Also, he gave some amazing facts that, there were a whopping 50+ overbridges in Surat and the adjacent areas. He also suggested me to visit the fully air-conditioned vegetable wholesale market which was actually one of it’s kind with state-of-the-art facilities. And then finally, he dropped me off at the Surat station and he did expect me to come again soon.

Then, I checked my ticket and, went to Platform no. 4 where the Surat-BDTS Intercity Superfast was waiting and then, I boarded the train, and one awesome day, came to an end.

I would like to personally thank Tanya, Sid and Hetal tai for taking pains just to meet me up, and special thanks to Hetal tai for convincing me to take the leap of faith and visiting Surat to meet tweeps.

I’d suggest my readers to follow the ones mentioned below! Strongly recommended! And I believe you wouldn’t find anyone more friendly than them.
Hetal tai – @bubblydentist
Sid/Siddharth – @HathwalaThakur
Tanya – @rajputanii_

Thanks a lot for reading! And much love!

And it all started with the Zest.Ah, who can forget the Zestilicious experience of my life! After the Zest was released, we all thought that, it was the end of awesome cars in a low price segment. But, I was proved wrong, when I received the mail from Blogadda that Tata Bolt was released.I didn’t waste a single day and ran off to the nearest Bolt Arena in my city to have a look at the new Bolt. The nearest Bolt Arena to me was at the Avani Mall, in Kolkata. And I visited the very first day of it’s display in the city.

As I reached the mall, one representative at the Bolt Arena welcomed me, and I saw the Bolt. I recalled my memory and, started matching one by one, expecting that the features wouldn’t be same. But,no. I could see every feature of the Zest floating around at the Tomato-like-red car in front of me. After being confused, I asked the representatives, is it the Zest? They replied me, “No dear Sir, it is the new Tata Bolt, or precisely, the hatchback version of your very own Tata Zest!”.And, within a few moments I was inside the car. I could feel the familiar steering wheel, the ConnectNext screen, the various similiar things, which made me remind our very own Tata Zest.Everything looked similiar. Now I’d love to mention five things, which I liked a lot, about the new Tata Bolt.

1.Design:

At one point it even reminded me of some of the old Tata cars, viz the Tata Indica, the Vista, and moreover, seemed like a little Tata Nano, which was probably fed some nutrition drink which made it look a little grown up.Yet, it had the flair of it’s sedan brother, Zest. As if, they are just two brothers from the same mother, Tata. The not-so-deep-blood-red but as-red-as tomato was a treat to the eyes. And, I just was lucky enough to touch the Bolt from outside, and, had a mental conversion with the Bolt, complimenting it, “Dude, you look great!”. I loved the design a lot, and it was way cool and swanky than other cars, according to me, in the hatchback series of various other cars.

Oh,that's me in the Tata Bolt. I hope you could see me? Or you couldn't? Atleast you could see my teeth right? :D

Oh,that’s me in the Tata Bolt. I hope you could see me? Or you couldn’t? Atleast you could see my teeth right? 😀

2.ePAS steering.

We already have seen the electric Power Assist Steering on the Tata Zest. It was a pleasure to see the Power Assisted steering on the Bolt as well. It is as usual, always an edge over the other cars, because electric power steering helps the car to be in more of the driver’s control, than manual transmission cars. And I doubt whether you will see any change in the steering wheel below. I doubt whether you will be able or not, to differentiate the steering wheel whether is it a “Tata Zest” or the new “Tata Bolt” ?

The same ePAS steering wheel. Do you remember "the Zest"?

The same ePAS steering wheel. Do you remember “the Zest”?

3.Spacious interiors.

This is something extravagant according to me in all the hatchback cars, and what I believe is, people rarely accept the fact that they will get space in a hatchback car. I am happy to declare that, “Oh yeah, the Bolt has the space!”.You could sit in a relaxed position, and inspite of the fact that, it looks little, it has enough space to fit yourself in a very relaxed way.You could easily get in and keep your knees relaxed.

4.Safety measures.

Even if you like the car a lot,you will think about the safety. However you like the car, you have to be sure that it ensures safety of the passengers and the driver.Even in this thought, Tata has not at all given a chance to the individual to give a second thought about the safety. The car is pretty much safe, and it has some amazing features like the 9th Generation ABS which is made by Bosch. Obviously, we can never doubt the build of Bosch. Along with that, we have the Corner Stability Control which is, I believe, passed on from the former brother Zest. Even Zest had this amazing feature which helped the driver to be in full control all the time with the “Bolt”.Also, how can we forget the Dual Airbags feature inheritance. That was one feature, I felt absolutely safe while having the test drive.I doubt whether, the other hatchback cars would offer such amazing safety measures.

5.Revotron 1.2 and Multi-drive option.

Revotron 1.2 Turbocharged MPFi engine, with 90PS@5000RPM is a dream of the hatchback cars. Obviously, what I feel is, this feature was absolutely unexpected for me.I thought, this wouldn’t be included in the new Tata Bolt. But, yes it has come true. This is included in the Tata Bolt, and this powers the ePAS steering as well as the corner stability control. This is what, I believe is Power in the hands.

Now let me emphasize about the multi-drive option of the Tata Bolt.
As,we had seen in the Tata Zest, it is the same, but I liked it so much that I would love to re-explain the whole thing to my readers.

Multi-drive option is basically the ability of the car to switch in three various modes with three different options.

First is the Sport mode: Sport mode is required when we need more power. Whenever we are in freeways or national highways, we might use this mode for greater speed and for more usage of the powerful Revotron 1.2 Turbocharged Engine.

Next is the Eco mode: When you feel, fuel is running low, or the fuel is being wasted, or the fuel needs to be saved, then comes the Eco mode. Basically it is an economy mode, where fuel is efficiently saved according to your needs.

And last but not the least, is the City Mode: City mode is basically the combination of half Sport mode and half Eco mode. The fuel saving is not that powerful as the Eco mode, but it does help in driving on alleyways and city lanes. Also, the power applied is not as powerful as the Sport mode, but it is enough powerful to cross over-bridges.

There are some more notable features, which did catch my eye. I also liked the upgrade in the ConnectNext TouchScreen InfoTainment by Harman. Tata did keep in mind and, very wisely integrated the MapMyIndia smartphone enabled navigation in the ConnectNext.

Now, suppose if you are going to Mumbai from Navi Mumbai, and you do not know the route map, you need not rely on roadside hawkers, shopkeepers and friends.Just, start your “Bolt”,plug in your phone, start MapMyIndia, and vroom,There you go.It also has the advanced voice recognition command which helps the driver a lot while driving.

And, last but not the least, I’d like to say,

“Everyone felt, it ended with The Zest, but it just started with The Zest and continued with The Bolt and will go on.The Bolt is the new Zest in life.

Let the Bolt, Zest up your life again!

And as they said, Get. Set. Bolt!

P.S This is my 50th post on WordPress. I would like to thank Blogadda for giving me the opportunity to write on the Tata Bolt!
