My Inspiration,Grandmother

Posted: February 28, 2015 in Uncategorized

Who can say, about a person, just on seeing him, after he or she is born? Who would comment that, this boy is going to be a scientist, inspite of the fact that you are just one year old and you have done something which maybe a little uncommon for the kids of your age? Yes. They are your grandparents. I am not lucky enough to see my grandfather alive but, I do have my grandmother. I have seen her health deteriorate. From a hale and hearty old lady to the same old hale and hearty lady lying on the bed whole day due to nerve wreckage and paralysis.

My grandmother was the one, who predicted on the very second day of my birth that, I would be an engineer, but I would be working as a manager. My mother laughed it off, saying, I would study as an engineer and work as an engineer only. But then, who knew that my grandmother would be stating the truth. I am actually pursuing engineering and I do aspire to get into India’s top Business schools for my post-graduation degree in management. And the journey begins from there as well.

I remember an incident related to the change of my thinking process. My parents were overprotective, but they did shout me whenever I did something wrong. So, it happened one fine day that, I wanted a bottle of chocolates. As I was a sweet-tooth kid, my mom knew I would get hold of it easily. Because of that, she used to keep it above at a height. Luckily that day, it was a holiday, and mom dad were out for shopping. So, I took the opportunity and sneaked outside granny’s room only to see her sleeping peacefully on her rocking chair with the novel on her lap. I thought she was sleeping and headed for the kitchen, not knowing that she pretended to fell asleep and, just to keep an eye on her little grandson, she tiptoed behind me.

After that, I stood up on the chair, and not being able to get hold of the bottle and lost my balance. I would have fallen and hurt myself, but granny caught me from behind. She first was about to shout me but she didn’t. Instead she taught me, stealing is bad and it should not be done. But now, as she was there, she said me, that she will allow me to take the bottle of chocolates, but on one condition that I will have to think of an alternative better way than standing on a chair to get the bottle of chocolates.

I had seen my father taking the ladder and washing away rooftop of our home in our village. From there I got the idea. I ran outside to bring the ladder, and with granny’s help, I climbed onto the ladder and got the bottle. We happily shared the chocolates.

Since that day, I always take an alternate approach to everything in life. Everything. Ranging from studies to other personal issues, I always think of an alternate way. Thank you Granny.

QuikrNXT : Dreams come true.

Posted: February 28, 2015 in Uncategorized

Since childhood we have seen many cars. Many on roads, and parking places, and outside malls and where not. Everyone of us do have a favourite dream car. Which is nearly impossible for us to buy, but, if we want to buy them, we have to sacrifice a lot of stuff just for that thing. Obviously we wouldn’t want that, right. So, here comes QuikrNXT. Who will fulfill our dreams, and get us the car which we always cherished and wanted, but couldn’t.

So here starts the story. A middle class corporate executive who has a very mid ranged car, say Mahindra XUV 500. Now, he’s pretty bored of it. Since the past two-three years he has been driving that car, and now he wants a change. When he was a child,he always wanted a BMW car. But couldn’t due to financial constraints. So what happened is, he had to cut short his dream but on a cheaper car.And use it for the next few years.

Now he is determined. After a few years of saving, and decision to sell his XUV 500, he thought he was on his way, to buy the BMW finally. But when, he entered the BMW showroom and asked the prices, his dreams literally shattered into pieces. Absolutely into pieces. Because, the prices were still the same and he was still falling short of the money. Now he was disappointed.

He couldn’t save enough money for a new BMW. So, he felt dejected. It was heart breaking. Yet he decided that, he would get the BMW anyhow. He started searching for BMW cars in the black marketplace. But even there it was pretty expensive. And he couldn’t trust the people there.Incidentally, at that point of time, I met him through a social media meetup. I suggested him, to sell his car on QuikrNXT and, to buy a BMW car of his choice from there itself. He was taken aback at first, but when I assured him that he won’t be cheated unlike the black marketplace, he understood.

Then the searching procedure started. He found a BMW car within his range and that too, in an intact condition. The person who was selling the BMW was a doctor who actually visited rural places. But he had an optional car, which he always used. So even after a year of purchase, the car was standing still in his garage as a show-off which he didn’t want to.He didn’t even feel to bargain, because, he wanted to sell away his car. So, we fixed the deal and we requested him to wait for a few days because, we did not have the money and he had to sell his XUV as well.

So,he found his BMW. Now there was his confusion. He saw the ad where the boy and girl are on a date and, he asks me, is it actually possible that so many calls would come? I was like no, QuikrNXT is better than Quikr but it is also Quikr. Anyways, coming back, then we gave an ad about his XUV 500 which was in good condition. Buyers came and went, but no one responded positively.

Suddenly out of nowhere, a lady came up to buy the XUV 500. She was a college teacher who was fascinated with the cute looking car. Even she did the same thing. She sold her Maruti Suzuki Alto, and was planning to buy the XUV 500. So, he fixed the deal, and then it was all done.

He finally fulfilled his dream,of owning a BMW car. Thanks to QuikrNXT!

These are the things, which you would, give your girlfriend any other normal day. But it’s valentine’s. So, something special. She loves texting, right? He loves clicking pictures, right? Now, let me suggest you. Asus has given us the power of Zenfone. You will find everything in the Zenfone you want. Even if you do not have a girlfriend, or a boyfriend, it won’t matter. Because, if I have a Zenfone, I wouldn’t need anyone. I would have the power in my hands.

If you do not know the power of Zenfone, let me explain you then. Everyone of you must have heard about the word “Intel”. Most of us know that Intel processors are mostly found in the laptops. But what will happen, if Intel powered processors, are given to your phone? Yes. The power of Intel, is what the Zenfone boasts of. Also, who would give you IPS HD screens which clearly show the usage of Gorilla Glass as well. These features are just the tip of an iceberg underneath.

Also, on top of that,
To mark the Valentine’s day, Asus Mobile have come up with an exciting offer with Flipkart.

The all new Zenphone is being sold at an exciting prize and offer exclusive flipkart deal.

The world,recreated!

Posted: February 20, 2015 in Uncategorized

Let’s start on,with the following note. “Just a thought, to change the world, itself is a change to the world”.And, I guess, there are approximately 7 billion people. Like they update on Facebook, “Feeling awesome with me, you and 7 billion others”. But, even the United Nations are not 100% sure whether 7 billion is a 100% correct assumption or not. Yet they say, it is a rough estimate of the population of the world.

The problem starts is, when you imagine of a new world, where people are just created, and you feel yourself as you are the creator.Even if you try to think, about creating a new world, you always get constant flashbacks of, the present world you are living in. Main issues, which include the basic as well. Food, clothing and shelter. There are nations, where you are not even allowed to raise your voice against freedom.Or even worse, put behind bars for raising their voice against freedom, or what we generally know as, freedom of speech. It feels pretty sad that, there are even some totally developed countries in the world, where the masses are generally well-educated and have a proper knowledge about what is going on in the world, yet some of them, make snide remarks/physical abuse on other people who have migrated from their motherland just to, feed their family, and give them a better life. But,they have to face even these kind of situation. And to deal along with them we have more complex intellectual issues like child-trafficking,corruption,hoarding,drug-addiction,war,nuclear exchanges, and the topic goes endless.

But do we know what is the basic needs for a human? strong>Food,Clothing and Shelter.
Yes,you heard me right. Keeping luxury apart, how many of us can live without basic amenities for long? Not long. Obviously not long. Now, let me explain what kind of a world, I dreamt of living in, and I aspire to live in such a world.

Since childhood, when we were little kids,we knew nothing. All happy and playful in our parent’s safe custody. At the same time, somewhere some little kid is working as a child labour and serving tea to your parents or maybe do household stuff as a servant, whereas your parents would not even let you touch utensils, let alone serving a cup of tea. Here comes my first point.

1. Compulsory free education for kids till the graduation level .
Irrespective of the kid’s social status, economic status, caste, creed, sex or whatever the barriers are, they should be provided education from the ruling party or government. Now, if they want a higher education, they should apply to the government for higher studies.Being from a developing country I have seen, child-labour still exists. Which is absolutely heart-shattering, but, we cannot help it. At instances, I have tried to confront the ones doing such inhuman behavior with kids. But even the kids cannot leave their job because, food. Now here comes the second point.

2. Every family should be entitled some amount of foodgrains and fuel from the government controlled ration shop every month.
There are various cases where people use the money for their personal satisfaction, i.e to drink alcohol, smoke cigarette, etc. So to save the innocent family members from the wrath of such people, I would try my best to design such a system where food will be given to the needy ones.

The third point which I personally feel is,
3.Equality and right to freedom of speech, work and expression for all.
There are also instances where we see that, people are not equally treated. There are places where transgender people have nothing to do,but beg. They are not provided education and the society does not accept them. Also, not only transgender, some places do not have their right to practice the religion they want to.

Let’s get this clear. We have read the recent killings by Boko Haram in Nigeria and the mass murder of 21 followers of the Egyptian Catholic church near Tripoli by the ISIS. There could have been ways to avoid this, but there were no ways to avoid this. There are cunning and selfish people everywhere. You cannot avoid them, but you have to stop them.I do believe in the Gandhian theory of Ahimsa, but can this be curbed by the Ahimsa theory? I’ll rather prefer to leave this question to be answered by my readers.

I have also seen countries, where they arrest you or put you in bars because you listened or watched to something which was not of your country, or not of your language.I would not name the country but it is the only country which, I personally wish to recreate, if I could. People seem to be happy, but the tyranny is unjust. Also, putting a person behind bars for practicing another religion apart from the masses is also unjust, according to me. One should be allowed to follow whatever religion he/she wants to follow.

Similarly is the case with profession. There are some cases where girls are unwillingly pushed in the huge network of human-trafficking and then they are not relocated when they want to. I believe, with the first point, and the second point, the ones who are caught unwillingly in the human-trafficking network, can save themselves from this. Now,there are some people who want to willingly join the prostitution business, they can. Society should be openly accepting them, because even they are human beings. We just cannot shoo them away or mistreat them just because they are sex workers.Rather the government should apply rules, regulations and norms for the safety of them.

I had read an article long back, that many sex workers were not relocated in their old ages.I believe even they should be given a chance to relocate themselves and live a peaceful after-work-life.Their relocation should be done absolutely similar to the old age people who have been cast away by their heartless children.

There are such innumerable changes I personally want to change if I could create a new world. Also, one of the specific things I would like to change on is, the last and point four.

4. Corruption and bribery.
Now this issue, I believe can be resolved upto some extent because what happens is, people are bound to take bribes, so that the work could be done faster, or maybe more efficiently. Whatever be it, the one who pays the bribes is equally at fault as the one accepting bribes. Here, we could introduce a scheme where a person, would have two options. One is the normal way of processing a job, and the other would be a faster way. NO, I am not legalizing bribery. Instead, the person would pay the government and then the official would receive a bonus for the work he did. In that way, the money which would have gone directly to the official’s pockets will now be regulated by the government.

I do wish to create such a world and not only me, but as I said earlier, one fine day, I’ll update a status on all my social websites, “Feeling happy, with you, and 7 billion others”. I would like to thank Blogadda for giving me the opportunity to write on such a dream topic.

Love, happened in the air!

Posted: February 10, 2015 in Uncategorized

When I shared this specific topic with my girlfriend, she was already thinking of ways that how can I surprise her.But I knew I had my own ways and I also knew, what could actually make her happy. I knew her idea of expressing love was way too much out-of-the-box and to match her excitement levels, I had to do something which could be just exquisite and a unique way to express my love for her. So what happened is, (oh yeah you know all those rose day chocolate day and blah blah),after celebrating all those days I decided that, on the 14th, I had to do something extra ordinary. And also had to keep in mind that, I had to express my love for her and something too extra-ordinary could result in even a breakup. So, what I did was, I called her up, at my place and from there, we both left to the nearest airstrip from my home.

She was taken aback because, she knew I was pretty much random. But not that level of random to go on an airstrip on Valentine’s day. My idea of expressing love, was way different and also which did blow out her mind later. I had arranged a helicopter ride for both of us. And, she was overwhelmed to see the scenarie when the helicopter landed at the helipad. She was excited, overjoyed, nervous and… oh I can’t remember words, which can define what she felt during that moment. So what happened was, we both, got into the helicopter and then, the helicopter started flying.

She was excitedly clicking pictures, when, I held her hands, and, said the exact words to her “Look into my eyes. Do you see yourself in them?”. She replied,”The same, is with me. I see myself in you.But do you see yourself in my eyes”. And we laughed together. Believe me, if there weren’t headphones and microphones attached to them, we couldn’t have heard each other. Yet we did and then, she knew she was mine for ever. And, since then I believe, it is not necessary to use those three golden words, and yet, you could describe your love for each other.

#twittermeetsinDelhi2014 Day 1

Posted: February 10, 2015 in Uncategorized

It was September end.I was being rebellious. I already declared, “Nothing can stop me from going to Delhi”.”But,you are going to meet people, not for sightseeing!” replied dad in an inquisitive tone.”Yes dad. That’s why I am going to Delhi!” I replied in an affirmative way.”Hahha, I see a future HR manager in you” and dad laughed it off.But I knew, at the end moment he would agree. And I was so cunning, I already had planned my next trip to Surat already while I was at Delhi.

I was planning everything at home, when dad said, he won’t get me tickets. I planned my itinerary, bought tickets and, ended up with some tickets which I disliked. But I knew, it was just one day away, so I could bear that one day train journey, just to meet up some amazing people. And, when dad came to know that I had already bought tickets, he felt sad. But to make things easier, he made arrangements for me at a hotel where he knew the manager beforehand. So he booked the hotel for me, and here I left, for Delhi. A new place, with new thoughts, and new hopes.

And it all happened, as I expected. While getting down, at the New Delhi Railway station, incidentally, the song “Delhi 6” played, with my headphones on, and I felt kinda amazing. It was indirectly an uplifting mood kinda day for me. Though, that’s another case I was duped by the cab drivers for a walking distance, but, it was worth. Everyone is duped for the first time when you land up in a new city. You cannot deny that, right?

Then, after a lot of brainstorming and various other stuff,I reached the hotel. Called up the famous Twitter celeb Ankit Jain aka @indiantweeter and he instantly got ready to meet me up. Though, the itinerary for the four days was, absolutely going unplanned right from the very moment I got down at the New Delhi Railway Station. But who cares!

“Yeh Delhi hai mere yaaar,
Bas Ishq Mohabbat Pyaar”.

So, I reached the hotel, threw my bags and left on to explore Dilwalon ki Delhi.Reached the nearest metro which was, New Delhi itself. One wise thing, I did, which I think was, instantly buying a travel Metro Card. And, within moments, I was inside, the New Delhi Metro Network. Sincerely speaking, I learnt all the stations, network routes, connectors, midways and, within a few moments, I helped people switching metros and telling routes, inspite of the fact that I myself never visited places then. E.g how can one visit Dwarka,Gurgaon,Noida on the very first day? Not really possible for a newbie in the city. Though, in the later days, I was absolutely normal travelling long routes and also in the bus as well. Need to improvise though. Anyways, coming back to the scenario, I called up Ankit and, he said, “Chandni Chowk aa ja. Will hang around!”. So I hopped into the Metro, and left for Chandni Chowk. Getting down at Chandni Chowk,I realized, I had a lot of time. So, I decided to visit the Red Fort, and the adjacent stuff. It was pretty cool and after a lot of time, I realized, that it was late and I had to meetup Ankit. So, hurriedly I left the huge Red Fort Complex and skipped Jama Masjid, and landed up at in front of the Gurudwara Sisganj Sahib and, met up Ankit. After exchanging talks about Delhi and his personal experience about Mumbai and various cities, we had the best Aloo-Chaat at the place. I do not exactly remember the name of the place but, I remember that, the person had been selling Aloo-Chaat since the past 100+ years. After a lot of discussion and information exchange,he remembered that he had some work. So, we both left together. And I returned to the hotel to take some rest.

Just after I reached the hotel, without wasting any time,I called up, madam @ttrinadasgupta or precisely, Trina Dasgupta. ! She was like, Saturdays and Sundays I am mostly busy, so, you better do one thing. Hop onto the yellow line and I’ll pick you up from the Huda City metro. I replied, okie done. So, this one thing I did love was, after a specific time, you could see that the plate number of cars were already changing. So, I already had my metro card, and after having coffee at the busy busy “Rajiv Chowk” metro station, I left for Huda City Metro, or to be precise, Gurgaon! She also ensured that, I do not go haywire and, to ping her whenever I cross Arjangarh metro station. And,when I got down to Huda City metro, she gave the directions to stand in front of the Max hospital, because due to traffic(oh yes, Mumbai is not the only victim ya!) she had to wait and then take a U-turn. And, after a few moments, we met. And, she lived upto my expectations. The Trina Dasgupta I expected, she was absolutely the same! Beautiful, caring, and cheerful. I was pretty amazed with her cheerfulness and excitement to meetup. Though, being true, I was not able to match her energetic levels inspite of me being the younger one. After meeting her up, we had a lot of talk in her car itself. Yes, that was her energetic level. And she inquired about my future career plans and so on. She also, informed me about some small tips, tricks and hacks about how to live and survive in the city called “Delhi”. Then, we went to her favourite restaurant, and then there too, we exchanged talks, but I feel, it should have been more appropriate if I could write “exchanged lives”. The “I Miss Kolkata” essence , “Durga Pujo is the best in Kolkata”, “No wonder, you’re too young to explore the world”, “Koto boyesh hoyeche haan!”(What’s even your age ya?) and lots of such talk went on. And then, she left me at the Huda city metro station and she insisted me to call her back when I reach the hotel. Though, it was a bit late according to Delhi standards, but if it were in Mumbai, the time would have been normal to return back home.

And thus an amazing Day 1 was spent. do keep an eye on the blog for the remaining days and some more awesome people whom I’ve met and greeted.
And last but not the least, Delhi has more friendly people than one could even imagine. Cheers!
P.S : High hopes to get into FMS, Delhi or MDI, Gurgaon for Post-grads. Do wish me luck.

Ah. There’s a hell lot of difference between using social media websites on your so called “smartphone” to using social media on Web. Usually what happens is,due to the change in the interface, it becomes too difficult to think, on what to choose. Social Media on Web. Or Social Media on your Smartphone.

But let’s see what are the reasons, people chose to prefer over their ways to access social media. There are various sites, namely Facebook, LinkedIN, Twitter, Instagram, Zomato( ahha please don’t give me the look. It’s also a social media site as well.). Similiarly for bloggers, their social media is known as Blogadda. So, the list goes on and on.

But where the issue arises is, are they pretty same from both the web and the smartphone interface? Obviously not. Every specific website has their pros and cons. Just as amazing as it could be. Now, slowly I’ll jot down the points where a specific social media website has an advantage over the other and, later will discuss on how it changed my life as well.

Facebook – Now everyone uses Facebook on mobiles as well as laptops. But the two interfaces are pretty different which gives an advantage of what content you are being able to see and perceive in both the cases. Facebook also has a specific app for smartphones which makes it easier to switch interfaces. Yet I would say there is a difference in using the web and the smartphone interface.

Twitter – Twitter is similiar to Facebook. Just that, it has updates as short as 140 characters with respect to Facebook’s long long long status updates by people. Also, an advantage is, even Twitter has its own smartphone app which gives an over edge.

Instagram – Instagram is a wee bit difficult. What I personally feel is, the smartphone interface, is better than the web interface. Now here comes the question, why? The Instagram web interface and smartphone interface are pretty much similiar. So what happens is, if you see a smartphone interface on a website, you are bound to go back to your smartphone for better details. So here lies the problem.

Now coming back to my own experience. I was a strong believer that, social media should be used only on web interface. Due to this wrong notion, it took me two years more to join social media. And after that, it continued. Back then, I didn’t know that Facebook could be accessed even via SMS’es. Or maybe one can send a Tweet via a SMS. And it continues.

I believe that the smartphone interface has a huge advantage because it gives you access whenever wherever you are. Obviously for high corporate officials you wouldn’t say that, Sir please use your phone for social media. I maybe wrong as well, but my personal view is, they might be more on web interfaces than the smartphone interfaces. Smartphones also give an advantage that, you could share your content instantly without any hassles. It could range from sharing a beautiful moment or scenario to saving a person’s life.
